Enugu state is in the Southeast geo-political zone of Nigeria and shares boundary with Ebonyi, Anambra, Kogi and Imo State.
Due to her abundant agricultural land within tropical forests and savannah belts, it boasts of approximately 8,023 square kilometers, abundant water resources which include 14 water reservoirs, 50 lakes, and numerous rivers and streams.
Over 70% of her population are rural and full-time agrarians/farmers. The state has vast unexploited and latent potentials in agriculture and agro- industrials. The bountiful supply of these natural resources supports irrigation potentials, fishery/aquaculture, and high yield staple/cash crops like rice, cassava, maize, soya beans, cowpea, yams, bananas/plantain, oil-palm produce, cashew, pineapple, potatoes and varieties of fruits and vegetables. The PH of Enugu State is 4.1 - 5.1.
Enugu State offers substantial investment prospects in agriculture, industry, and tourism for local and international entrepreneurs/investors. The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Dr. Peter N. Mbah has an agricultural policy and is poised to achieve the government goals of increased food security and harness the export opportunities of crops and livestock in the state. The State Government guarantees a safe and enabling environment for sustainability of investments to thrive exponentially. Enugu State laws and environment fosters favourable conditions for private and foreign investments in agriculture.
