Unimaginably, the prevailing climate in the state is very conducive for the value chain investments in piggery production.
Enugu state, Nigeria is today the 4th largest producer of poultry and poultry by-products in Nigeria. There are two modern hatcheries in the state, with combined capacity of 360,000 Day Old Chicks (DOCs) per month. Enugu state government has investment opportunities in hatcheries area's of parent stock farm, feed mills, meat processing and egg handling machines and equipment as well as cold storage for the processed poultry products.
All known fresh water fish species are found in Enugu state. There are 14 water reservoirs and 50 lakes within 50 kilometers radius from the state capital, Enugu city for development of profitable fishery and aquaculture productions.
